Social Emotional Intelligence Curriculum

Rooted in both research and real-world application, this year-long Social Emotional Intelligence (SEI) curriculum weaves together the proven practices of Restorative Justice (RJ) and the foundational principles of emotional literacy to cultivate empowered, inclusive learning communities. Developed by veteran educator and curriculum designer Anna Paris, the program equips students with the tools to understand and regulate emotions, build trust, repair harm, and navigate relationships with empathy and clarity. Aligned with both Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) framework, this course supports critical English Language Arts skills while addressing the five core SEL competencies: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.

Designed for middle and high school students, the curriculum incorporates hands-on activities, reflective practice, and real-world applications to foster deep engagement and long-term impact. Anna draws on decades of experience teaching in urban, racially and economically diverse schools—including Vallejo City Unified School District, where over 80% of students are youth of color—to ensure the program is culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and equity-centered. The result is a transformative educational experience that not only enhances academic success but supports student mental health, peer connection, and leadership development.

Whether implemented district-wide or piloted at a single site, this curriculum offers a practical, scalable solution to the growing call for meaningful social-emotional education in today’s schools.

Educator Training & Support

At the heart of every thriving SEI classroom is a well-supported educator. Our comprehensive training program prepares teachers, counselors, and school leaders to implement the Social Emotional Intelligence + Restorative Justice curriculum with intention, confidence, and compassion. Rooted in trauma-informed practices and cultural humility, this training goes beyond theory, offering concrete tools to build emotionally safe, accountable, and connected school communities.

Participants will develop practical skills in restorative circle facilitation, de-escalation, and harm repair, while also learning how to model emotional regulation and foster student voice. From foundational knowledge of SEI and RJ to strategies for equity-centered leadership, this program equips educators with everything they need to lead transformative learning environments.

Support materials include printable circle scripts, educator reflection journals, adult self-regulation tools, and a full implementation calendar. Optional live coaching and whole-school workshop options are also available to sustain momentum and foster a shared culture of care.

This training doesn’t just change how educators teach—it transforms how schools connect, communicate, and grow together.
